Check they are an FTA-approved tax agent

A tax agent is registered with the Federal Tax Authority and can deal with the FTA on your behalf. You can verify any agent on the FTA's public register. A general business-setup desk is not the same as a listed tax agent.

Look for genuine expertise

• Real knowledge of Corporate Tax, VAT and your sector
